About A Mindful Way
A Mindful Way provides online mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy courses designed to provide information and help you to develop skills to deal with insomnia, stress and anxiety and chronic fatigue. Our courses are released progressively over the term of each course and the materials remain available for 3 months from the date you first subscribe.
Our courses are based on two treatment models called mindfulness based therapy for insomnia and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia. These methods may not be helpful or appropriate for every individual and they are not designed to assess or treat clinical levels of insomnia, depression or anxiety, chronic fatigue or other mental health disorders.
Training in mindfulness should only be undertaken when you are mentally and emotionally well and stable. It is important that you do not use our courses if you are currently experiencing depression, moderate to severe anxiety, flashbacks, psychosis or other mental health problems. If you are in any doubt about whether our courses are appropriate for you, you should seek the advice of a properly qualified health professional.
None of the information on A Mindful Way is a substitute for diagnosis and treatment by an appropriate health professional. The screening tests contained in the courses are intended solely for the purpose of identifying sleep problems, mood, anxiety and depressive symptoms. They are not a substitute for a diagnosis by an appropriately qualified health professional.
The diagnosis and treatment of clinical insomnia, anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue requires assessment by a medical practitioner or qualified mental health professional. This is particularly important, because insomnia, anxiety and depression are sometimes caused by physical illness or certain medications.
The courses are not suitable for:
- people currently experiencing acute mental health problems (see below)
- young people under the age of 16
- women who are pregnant
- or new parents with an infant
If you have a history of mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder, or other mental health problem, you should seek the advice of a medical practitioner or mental health professional about whether this course is suitable for you.
Health professionals can contact us at email@example.com for more information about the these treatment models and their suitability for their patients.
Some of the sleep recommendations offered in the courses are not suitable for young people, pregnant women, or new parents, are the sleep and rest needs for the people in these groups are different.
